Description[]

Damage Types are categories of damage events. Some damage types can be mitigated through perks and resistances.

Types[]

Basic[]

The default damage type for most attacks. Commonly dealt by bullet projectiles. There is no resistance applicable to basic damage. A player can effectively increase their resistance to basic type damage by increasing their health.

Fire[]

A damage type caused by incendiary sources. Commonly dealt by explosions, environmental hazards, incendiary rounds, and while burning. Characters may reduce their susceptibility, duration, and damage of fire effects by increasing their fire resistance. Enemies found within incendiary environments, such the Engineering section, will have higher fire resistance.

  • While on fire, enemies will be compelled to run and take fire damage over time.

Toxic[]

A damage type caused by toxic sources. Commonly dealt when a character is affected by toxins. Non-organic units are immune to toxic damage. Characters may reduce their susceptibility, duration, and damage of toxic effects by increasing their toxin resistance. Enemies found within toxic environments, such the Chemlabs section, will have higher toxin resistance.

  • Enemy units cannot run while affected by toxins. Enemy units affected by toxins take toxic damage over time.
  • Toxic damage is applied differently to the player than to enemies. Players only suffer toxic damage when moving under the effect of toxins.

Energy[]

A damage source caused by energy sources. Commonly dealt by lasers, photon projectiles, and non-organic characters. Characters may reduce the effectiveness of energy damage by increasing their energy resistance. Non-organic units have a higher base resistance to energy damage by default.
